Deer management and stalking

An insight into deer, their place in the landscape and the responsibilities of managing them.

Norfolk & Suffolk, England

Understanding deer and their habitat

Time with an experienced countryside specialist can help explain how deer are observed and how their impact on woodland, farming and other wildlife is considered. Depending on the season and location, a visit might involve looking for signs, observing from a distance and discussing the decisions made on that ground.

For those interested in stalking

We can arrange stalking for muntjac, Chinese water deer, roe, fallow and red deer. The species, location and suitable host are discussed around your experience, the season and the requirements of the ground. Tell Simon whether you are new to stalking or have previous experience, and whether local equipment arrangements would be helpful. A non sporting partner can follow a different interest, with time together afterwards.

For guests with a particular trophy interest, opportunities may occasionally be available, subject to the species, season and the host’s deer management objectives. Please mention this when enquiring so that Simon can discuss what may be appropriate.
